A journey into culture and music
Celebrate the power of music to unite and inspire us all.
El Camino (“The Journey”) is an immersive show developed with the Australian group Sonido. El Camino celebrates the music of the performers’ Latin American heritage alongside musical influences from their home in culturally vibrant Western Sydney. Hear songs in ancient languages, performed with traditional instruments like the zampoña (pan-flute), charango (10-string guitar) and bombo (cow-hide drum), as the musicians share the heart and soul of their cultures.
Students will engage in interactive learning by playing percussion instruments, singing in language, and moving to captivating rhythms. El Camino shines a light on the richness of our immigrant cultures and celebrates the power of music to unite and inspire us all.

"El Camino is about celebrating both sides of who we are, Chilean and Australian. Through the music and stories we share, we hope students see that being Australian can mean having many different cultural roots, and that’s something to be proud of."
