State Opera South Australia’s 2026 Golden Jubilee season promises a magical year of bold, world first productions that celebrate 50 years of inspiring opera. The season opens with a dazzling new staging of Rossini’s CINDERELLA (La Cenerentola), a spirited retelling of the Cinderella story, directed by Neil Armfield, starring Anna Dowsley as Angelina and Teddy Tahu Rhodes as Don Magnifico. This enchanting production sets the tone for a season of imagination and musical brilliance.

Big Sing provides a annual platform for choristers to join a massed choir to perform classical choral works with a symphony orchestra—a powerful shared experience in beautiful McLaren Vale. Over 300 choristers will join the ASO and soloists to perform this major new oratorio.
