Life is an Echo

Space, stillness, and shared music

Exploring Asian cultural traditions through music and mindful listening.

Of Japanese, Taiwanese and Singaporean heritage, the musicians of San Ureshi draw on their diverse backgrounds to share the rich traditions of Asian music. Performing on erhu, guzheng and a range of percussion instruments, they create a sound world in this meditative and immersive show.

Students are invited to reflect on the power of tone and silence, learning how music can help create space for themselves and others. Life is an Echo is more than a musical performance, it’s an invitation to pause, listen, and consider how we relate to one another through the arts.

"Watching the student's faces light up when they saw the performers in real life, after getting to know them through the pre-show videos and activities, was a joy. Seeing children enjoy live music is wonderful to watch."
