Musica Viva collaborates on Indigenous Language Program

Members of the Ngarrindjeri Community working on the development of the platform as project leaders in phase one

Musica Viva is proud to be partnering with the Federal Government for a second time to create and deliver an Indigenous language platform.

This user-managed platform allows Indigenous communities to comprehensively record and preserve language in a user-friendly and future-proofed context. This provides a new tool for the preservation of Indigenous cultural heritage which reaches new users, whilst data (stored on the platform) can be drawn upon for a variety of community purposes. Using the data that each community contributes to the platform, an application is used as a language and learning resource.

This resource uses contemporary digital learning techniques and allows teachers and students to learn about Indigenous language in an engaging and familiar learning environment.
