Our earliest musical experience is usually singing, followed by playing percussion. There is nothing like enhancing a song with a rhythmic beat. However, percussion has much greater scope as it can be used to create all the elements of music, as well as show a pulse or a beat. Our workshop facilitator will walk you through classroom activities designed to enable you to explore percussion instruments with your students.
Musica Viva Professional Development events focus on developing music education skills, supporting teachers with tools and techniques for teaching music with confidence in the classroom. Our 2 hour events are accredited and are aimed at both general primary classroom teachers and music specialists. All attendees will receive a certificate acknowledging their participation. Light refreshments will be provided at each event.
This PD event will cover the following AITSL standards:
3.3.2 Select and use relevant teaching strategies to develop knowledge, skills, problem solving and critical and creative thinking.
3.4.2 Select and/or create and use a range of resources, including ICT, to engage students in their learning.
3.5.2 Use effective verbal and nonverbal communication strategies to support student understanding, participation, engagement and achievement.
All of our Professional Development country-wide addresses AITSL Teacher Standards. NSW Proficient teachers will receive 2 hours of NESA accredited Professional Development, while all ACT Professional Development is fully accredited with both NESA and TQI.
