In our fifth annual symposium co-presented by Musica Viva, ASME and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, we are delighted to present a day of practical workshops and inspirational speakers to explore how music can be used in schools to enhance wellbeing for both you and your students.

Keynote Speaker

Lee Musumeci, Principal of Challis Community Primary School (WA)

Challis Community Primary School was featured in ABC’s three-part documentary series Don’t Stop the Music. The school's principal Lee Musumeci will talk about her experience building a transformative music program and her observations about the outcomes for student well-being.


Primary Classroom Music workshop
Presented by Joanna Patrick 

Research shows that the musical experience has a significant positive impact on health and wellbeing. This work­shop will explore the power of music to support both physical and mental health in the classroom with engaging activities and creative processes that nurture a sense of wellbeing, inclusivity and resilience.

Singing for Wellbeing
Presented by Louise O’Reilly 

General vocal education and care with a focus on practical strategies for teachers and singers. This presentation will explore the connections between voice and mental and physical health.

Music Education Support Organisations

This will feature 5-minute presentations by a range of key music education program providers, explaining their programs and teaching resources.
