Musica Viva Festival 2017
The Festival opens with the brilliant young Australian Amy Dickson playing a little-known gem by Frenchman Florent Schmitt, setting the scene for a Festival of musical discoveries. The Goldner String Quartet and the legendary Lambert Orkis show that familiar masterpieces will not be neglected either, with Schumann’s mighty quintet. Britten’s heartfelt third quartet comes to life with the acclaimed Elias Quartet from the UK; and the outstanding Zukerman Trio announce their presence with Dvorák’s divine ‘Dumky’ Trio, its galloping finale closing a magnificent concert.
