IMPORTANT CONCERT UPDATE
It is with great regret that Musica Viva announces the cancellation of the Eggner Trio and Diana Doherty.
‘Our primary concern is always for the wellbeing of our patrons, artists and staff,’ says Musica Viva CEO Hywel Sims. ‘Due to the continuing disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our tour by the Eggner Trio and Diana Doherty.’
You may request a refund for your tickets, receive a credit to use for a future concert, or donate their value to the Musica Viva Artist Fund which supports the Australian artists we work with in our schools program and with whom we had planned to work with on our concerts stages this year.

Diana Doherty & The Eggner Trio
The brothers of Austria's Eggner Trio personify so much of the history of chamber music. They literally grew up playing music together in their living room, the intended venue for so many works written for this most intimate artform. While each has their own solo career, together they make an inspiring and superbly matched ensemble, regularly appearing in the great concert halls of the northern hemisphere – and for Musica Viva. On this tour they’re joined by superb Australian oboist Diana Doherty in a unique and exciting virtuoso collaboration. With four famously engaging personalities on stage, expect a vividly memorable event!
Martinů’s rarely heard Oboe Quartet is one of the finest works of its kind. This surprisingly unusual combination of instruments creates a sonic challenge eagerly accepted by Australian composer Lachlan Skipworth, whose own quartet will be heard for the first time. Piano trios by Beethoven, Smetana, Arensky and Schumann ground the programs in the richly rewarding world of Romantic melody and colour.
