Japan
"We’re very proud to compete in this honourable competition. The fact that we’re the only group from Japan is a great pleasure. We are filled with a sense of affinity with Australia and looking forward to visiting there." Kako Yamada, violin
The Thaleia Quartet was formed in 2014 by students from Tokyo University of the Arts. They are studying with Prof. Kazuki Sawa, Katsuya Matsubara, Toshihiko Ichitsubo and Nobuko Yamazaki, and have participated in masterclasses with Gabriel Lipkind, the Skampa Quartet, the Chilingirian Quartet and Garfield Jackson.
