Important Concert Update

It is with great regret that Musica Viva announces the cancellation of Arcadia Winds.

‘Our primary concern is always for the wellbeing of our patrons, artists and staff,’ says Musica Viva CEO Hywel Sims. ‘We’re following government advice closely and have made the difficult decision to cancel this tour.’

You will have an opportunity to receive a refund for your tickets, exchange them for a later performance or donate their value to Musica Viva. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you to a concert again soon.

Arcadia Winds

Musica Viva’s inaugural FutureMakers (2016/17), Arcadia Winds are making a great career for themselves. Since their ‘graduation’ from this innovative musical leadership program at the end of 2017,  this superb group of musicians have released their eponymous debut EP, launched their own Australian composition prize, and are developing a unique online portal for Australian wind music.

This vivacious program finds them in their element: Percy Grainger’s delicious Walking Tune and Júlio Medaglia’s exuberant South American-flavoured suite bookend two classics of the genre in Taffanel’s G minor Quintet and Barber’s beautiful, evocative Summer Music.
