As part of Musica Viva's ongoing focus on artist development and nurturing the next generation of musicians, music students and early-career musicians are offered the exciting opportunity to audition to take part in a Musica Viva Masterclass.
Successful auditionees are invited to perform for, and be mentored by, some of the finest musicians in the world and take place in both public and private masterclass formats, with each participant allocated at least 20 minutes with their mentor.
Past mentors have included superstar violinist, Maxim Vengerov and acclaimed pianist, Angela Hewitt.
Auditions are held for selected Masterclasses around the country throughout the year and take place either by live auditions or through a video submission process.
Auditionees are assessed by a panel composed of the Musica Viva Artistic and Artist Development teams, as well as invited music educators and established musicians.
Please check back for future opportunities.
Musica Viva’s Masterclass program is supported by principal patrons Stephen Johns & Michele Bender, the Sydney Conservatorium Association (NSW), Lyn Hamill & Ian Dover (Queensland), Wesfarmers Arts (Western Australia), Anonymous Donor (South Australia), Mary Turner OAM (Newcastle).
