Musica Viva In Schools has been bringing the very best live music to Australian schools for 40 years and is one of the leading providers of music education in Australia. We specialise in bringing the best nationally and internationally acclaimed performers direct to schools: interactive, dynamic and culturally diverse groups that perform a wide variety of musical styles. Our performances give students the opportunity to discover live music, in their own unique way.
Musica Viva In Schools provides life-changing musical education and experiences to over 900 schools and 280,000 Australian students per year, no matter the type of school, location or economic situation. Our education program is suitable for foundation to year 8.
We are seeking an enthusiastic new member of our team to assist with the maintenance of relationships with schools and school teachers in NSW, NT & Tasmania. In this role you will support sales of the Musica Viva In Schools (MVIS) program and professional development to schools and teachers in those states and territories, complementing the schools’ music curriculum and fostering children’s interest in and love of music.
Schedule online and in-school Musica Viva in Schools concert tours for NSW, NT and Tasmania.
Be the first point of contact for inbound inquiries by teachers in NSW, NT and Tasmanian schools regarding Musica Viva in Schools programs and online platform.
Coordinate distribution of information to and from schools.
Provide general administrative support to the team, including reporting and updating database and ticketing information.
Make regular contact with schools to support marketing campaign sales activities.
Follow up with schools regarding payment of invoices
Key criteria for success
We believe that the following qualities will make you successful in this role:
- 1-2 years previous experience in an administration role
- Strong time management, superior organization and multitasking skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Well developed and mature sense of initiative • Resilience and an ability to keep calm under pressure
- Experience with software such as Word, Excel and databases
- A full clean driver’s licence
- Eligibility for a NSW Working with Children Check
- Music and/or education experience
- Tessitura experience
