The Eggner Trio was founded in 1997 by the three brothers Christoph, Georg and Florian Eggner. In 1999 already the Austrian musicians have been winning the First Prize of the International Brahms Competition in Pörtschach and captured the international musical world in 2003 winning the First Prize of the prestigious Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (plus Musica Viva Special Prize).
The Trio’s most important teachers were Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet), Juri Smirnov (Brahms Trio Vienna) and the Altenberg Trio In addition the Trio has worked in masterclasses with Menahem Pressler (Beaux Arts Trio), Norbert Brainin and Sigmund Nissel (Amadeus Quartet), Thomas Kakuska (Alban Berg Quartett), Laszlo Meszö (Bartok Quartet) as well as Steven Isserlis.
The three brothers have given concerts in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Japan as well as in USA and performed at major venues and leading festivals in Austria as Konzerthaus Vienna, Brucknerhaus Linz, Klangbogen Vienna, Lockenhaus festival, Oberösterreichische Stiftskonzerte, Carinthischer Sommer etc.
