Musica Viva In Schools’ Music Education Package provides you with a complete and integrated program fulfilling your music curriculum requirements. The package enables you and your students to achieve the best possible learning outcomes irrespective of your experience in teaching music.

Step 1 - Professional Development

Deepen your professional learning with our hands-on Professional Development Course exploring practical and inspiring teaching ideas.

The course will be:

  • delivered in a location close to you (even in regional and remote areas)
  • led by an experienced music educator
  • a hands-on, interactive session
  • an opportunity to exchange more ideas and experiences with like-minded colleagues

The course will cater for both classroom teachers and music specialists. All attendees will receive a certificate of participation and a Teaching Resource Kit.

Step 2 - Teaching Resources

Implement your professional learning from Step 1 supported by the comprehensive Teaching Resource Kit, enabling your students to achieve the learning outcomes required in your curriculum.

The Teaching Resource Kit consists of:

  • A book, written by experienced music educators, with activities suitable for all age groups. It also contains background information on the musicians, musical scores and details of how the program links to the curriculum in your state
  • A CD containing the music linked to the teaching activities

The Teaching Resource Kit is suitable for teachers of all levels of musical experience.

Step 3 - Live Music

Consolidate your students’ learning outcomes in an hour of Live Music in your school featuring:

  • Highly trained musicians performing music from the Teaching Resource Kit
  • an interactive experience for your students as they listen, sing, dance and perform with the professional musicians

Ensembles covering a variety of genres including, classical, jazz, contemporary, folk and world music, featuring diverse instrumentation are all available in the program. Each group’s program is unique, and ensembles are rotated among the regions in your state to give you the opportunity to choose a new experience for your students each year.
