The Dean Emmerson Dean trio presents a program that explores and expands the rich repertoire of trios and duo sonatas for clarinet, viola and piano. Brett Dean graduated from Queensland Conservatorium as student of the year. After four seasons as principal viola of the Queensland and Australian Youth Orchestras and numerous solo performances throughout Australasia, he became a permanent member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 1985 and held this post for 15 years before returning to Australia in 2000.  He is currently Artistic Director of the Australian National Academy of Music. He joins his brother Paul, principal clarinet with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra from 1988 to 2000. Paul has performed both solo and chamber concerts in London, Norway, South Korea, New Zealand, United States, Canada, China and Japan. Pianist Stephen Emmerson, lecturer at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, has a busy career as a solo and chamber music pianist. A recent highlight for the trio was its successful tour for Chamber Music New Zealand.
