Musica Viva CountryWide makes it possible for the best music ensembles to tour regional Australia. With the support of our sponsors and government partners, Musica Viva covers the travel and accommodation expenses associated with bringing the musicians to your area, and provides you with basic marketing materials. You have to cover the performance costs (artists fees, venue and production expenses), organise the venue and take care of local marketing and publicity. You sell the tickets and keep the box office takings.
A broad range of musical styles are available for touring through regional Australia, and you can be sure that we have an ensemble suitable for every performance occasion – whether it’s a concert performance by a string quartet or an internationally acclaimed soloist, a cabaret evening or a world music group headlining an outdoor festival. The performance costs are on a separate insert and assume: 1) There is enough interest from presenters in your area to make a viable tour for the ensemble and 2) Sufficient government subsidy being granted to Musica Viva. Even if these conditions are not met, we can still arrange a tour for you, but it is likely to be more expensive.
Within this site you are able to search through the different ranges of groups that are available, including String Quartets, Trios, Solo and Duo Performers, Pianists, Mixed Ensembles, Contemporary Classical Ensembles, Early Music, Vocal Performers and Ensembles, Jazz Ensembles and Music of Diverse Cultures.
