Café Carnivale is a year-round world music festival, presenting authentic and inspiring ‘live’ music of the diverse cultures of Sydney.
This world music series has expanded since its debut in 2000 now presenting up to 8 concerts a month at intimate and informal venues around Sydney – weekly on Friday nights at Eastside Arts (Paddington) and once a month at The Sound Lounge at the Seymour Centre (Chippendale)and Glen Street Theatre (Belrose).
Café Carnivale also presents concerts at the Barrenjoey Music Room (Avalon) and from time to time at Riverside Theatres (Parramatta), making it possible for all Sydneysiders to enjoy the rich musical and cultural diversity of the city.
Experience a new world of music
In August 2009, Café Carnivale begins its second season of world music presenting 30 concerts representing diverse genres and cultural backgrounds from around the globe. The season features music from Africa, Asia, Latin America, Western and Easter Europe performed by artists all of whom live in Sydney.
Season Two program will offer great collaborations including one special international ensemble.
Café Carnivale offers the best world music in Sydney and, for under $30 a ticket.
