Job Title: Research and Data Analyst

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for research and analysis of internal and external data to assist in future informed decision-making ensuring the use of the most effective combination of marketing strategies and tactics to improve sales and profitability and build brands in both the long and short term.

The role is also responsible for contributing to the marketing requirements of any CRM related activities including input into functional requirements in the database to ensure the quality of data, integrity of data, ease of data retrieval, appropriate marketing data queries and generation of reports and quality lists.

Reporting/working relationships:

The position reports to the Director of Marketing, and works closely with all Marketing personnel and the Director of Business Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analysing and interpreting data to identify patterns and trends to ensure the effective combination of marketing strategies and tactics
  • Planning and implementing research projects including writing surveys/questionnaires, forming focus groups and assessing results
  • Managing collaborative research projects with other Musica Viva departments and other arts organisations.
  • Producing written and oral reports, graphs, charts and diagrams to present findings.
  • Generating insight and appropriate recommendations and or conclusions from research results.
  • Analysing sales data for future budget setting
  • Competitive analysis (price, product, company)
  • Conducting post campaign analysis
  • Championing departmental ownership of data

Position requirements:

  • Two to five years experience in research and analysis
  • Two years experience with database or CRM systems both in terms of use and functionality.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to balance technical skills with marketing savvy – (transform data analysis into useable data to implement change in marketing strategies and tactics).
  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to form relationships both externally and internally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team-oriented environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
